At 150 watts of LED lighting, this unit produces a tremendous amount of light, with little heat. As I recall, the ratio of a tungsten light bulb is 80% heat with 20% light. These babies are the opposite – 20% heat with 80% light!

On the outside upper rim, the fixture has dozens of vanes of different sizes, that are used as heat sinks. It keep the LED’s and the electronic running cool. Heat is the biggest threat to those bits.

The light comes with a 18AWG cable, one end with a standard three-prong moulded plug (North American), and the other entering the light from dead-centre at the top. The cable is just a tad over five feet long.

The entire fixture is hung from “something” in or near the ceiling. There is an “open J-hook” at the top of the fixture, which is screwed into the top. After the hook is in place, there is a set-screw that can be tighten to keep the threaded J-hook for moving. It also has a safety wire attached to that set-screw, so if for some reason the J-hook failed, the safety chain would prevent the fixture from falling. Excellent safety feature.

The light displays no hot spots at all. The lighting effect is a very flat, broad beam, without creating heavy shadows. With an IP65 rating, it is good for damp/wet locations.

In my workshop, I already have a few electrical boxes mounted in the ceiling. Dust collectors, two door openers, two ceiling fans, and now this excellent light, are all up there. The fact that I just have to hang it up and plug it in, is a big bonus.

If you are looking for a well built lamp, one that can deliver 150 watts of light, can take some environment abuse (cold, heat, wet) and is very compact, do yourself a favour and give this fixture a good look.
